WELCOME MESSAGE

Abstract

The Romanian Society of Emergency and Trauma Surgery was born in 2007 on the initiative of several colleagues with surgical activity in this field. The idea came from the reality of the increasing share of this pathology insufficiently reflected in scientific manifestations or in specific publications. Once the activity of this society was outlined, the need for a dedicated journal was highlighted.

Romanian Journal of Emergency Surgery aims to bring together specialists from various surgical specialties with an emergency profile that will transpose their experience in original studies, case presentations or in literature reviews. We hope to obtain a better visibility of our activity and a promotion of the young people who represent the majority of emergency surgery specialists​​.

Specifically, the journal will be published twice a year, in English, in a limited print run and will be accessible online. The journal is an open access one and there are no processing or publication fees.

The evaluation for publishing of the submitted materials will be double-blind peer review type to ensure the objectivity and transparency of this process, which, together with the anti-plagiarism evaluation and the Digital Object Identifier (DOI), will allow, in the shortest time, indexing the journal in international databases.

We are confident that our approach meets a real need and offers an accessible platform of expression, whose academic standards we want to maintain at the highest level.
